Taking advantage of the geographical location of the island Cyta has developed an extensive submarine fiber optic cable network connecting Cyprus with neighboring countries such as Greece Israel Syria Lebanon and Egypt and by extension the rest world. At the same time Cyta has developed an equally impressive infrastructure satellite earth stations. All this rightly highlight the Cyprus telecommunications hub in the region. Cyta provides a broad range of services and facilities which aim to satisfy the ever growing needs of its customers for voice and data applications both fixed and mobile communication. Particular emphasis is placed on providing value added services such as content / multimedia via the Internet which by all accounts will be the dominant business activity of the next decade. With the convergence of telecommunications IT and entertainment and the formation of a new competitive environment Cyta has repositioned itself as a provider of a full range of integrated electronic communications. The development of broadband and quad play is the spearhead of the Agency s strategy. Cyta is is the first organization in Cyprus evaluated based quality management model of the European Foundation for Quality Management EFQM and was placed in the highest rank of five stars in the level «Recognized for Excellence». Also it is the largest organization in the broader state sector in Cyprus who first obtained the certificate of ISO 9001: 2000.
